Today we were over in Much Wenlock, Telford cleaning a roof using the softwashing method.
This method of roof cleaning is using a very low pressure system to apply solutions to not only clean the roof but kill all contaminates such as algae, mould, moss, lichens and fungi’s.
What we do is, firstly, remove the large deposits of moss using metal hand held tools and wire brushes. Once we are satisfied the bulk of the moss has been removed manually, we would then apply a treatment to the tiles (as displayed in the photo to the right of the blog) this will kill any remaining moss and lichen that are still on the roof. When we have completed the roof clean, we then clear out the gutters removing all remaining debris that may have fallen when cleaning the roof.
